SEASONAL PROGRAMS

Koinonia operates multiple seasonal programs throughout the year to further assist individuals and families who are in need.  All programs are available to our clients, free-of-charge.  

Our seasonal programs include:

• Kamp Koinonia Providing summer camp scholarships for children through 6th grade.  A Kamp Koinonia child will attend Fairfax County Park Authority Summer Rec-PAC, a 6-week structured summer camp program, at their local elementary school, participating in various fun and enriching activities.

• August Angels Back-to-school time becomes a little more exciting as each school-aged child receives a backpack filled with age/school appropriate school supplies, a new outfit and a Payless Shoe Source gift card.  

• Holiday Food Baskets Providing everything necessary to prepare a special holiday meal for Thanksgiving and Christmas.  Baskets also include various pantry essentials to further help our low income individuals and families.   

• Christmas Wishes Offering parents the opportunity to select unanticipated and previously out of reach gifts for their children.  Christmas Wishes also provides special gift packages for the elderly.

• Hoppers Birthday Bunch Named after a dear friend of Koinonia who passed away at a young age, a special memorial fund was established to provide warm blankets, food, and shoes.  Additionally, Koinonia celebrates Hopper and his tender loving spirit, by giving away 2 new bicycles each month.
