When Ms. MH was going through a rough patch in her marriage, she turned to Koinonia for help. The youngest of her three daughters had four open-heart surgeries to repair a ‘hole’ in her heart. The mother worked at a child care center and needed to be certified. She registered for the course at NVCC, and Koinonia paid for her books. She has now graduated, is back at work and has increased her earning potential. The children are in school and youngest daughter’s health is much improved. The family also benefited from Koinonia’s Hopper’s Birthday Bike program and the child received a brand new bike.
