OUR MISSION:
The Koinonia Foundation is a faith-based organization, called to support adults and children in the Franconia/Kingstowne/Rose Hill area. Koinonia helps to meet challenges of daily living by providing food, clothing, and emergency financial assistance to qualified residents regardless of beliefs.
Koinonia is the sole nonprofit organization recognized by Fairfax County to provide both short-term emergency assistance and self-sufficiency services to residents of the Franconia/Kingstowne area.

OUR GUIDING PRINCIPLES:
Koinonia was founded by Christian Churches, in the generous spirit of sharing, to help those in need. Our service to the community is based on the following guiding principles:

1. To treat all people with dignity and without discrimination
2. To give a hand up not a hand out
3. To give hope and spread joy
4. To act as a clearinghouse for community resources
5. To value our staff and volunteers

Koinonia is a Greek word that means spiritual fellowship and sharing with others. It is pronounced Coy-no-nee-ah.

OUR VISION:
Koinonia’s vision is to enhance the Franconia/Kingstowne/Rose Hill community by channeling generosity toward local needs.
