At the moment, most of our weekly spots (ie "Long Term Volunteers" for the food pantry and clothing closet are filled, although spots do open up.  One specific need is for reliable substitutes, especially during the summer months.

Once we move into our new space we will need extra volunteer in both the food pantry and clothing closet, and will also be looking for greeters.

In addition, we need a couple of "on call" volunteers who could be called on short notice for something that we need help with - like picking up a donation, getting supplies from storage etc.

Koinonia has three types of volunteers:

Long-term volunteers to cover specific shifts in the pantry or the clothing closet (training provided). These volunteers are given a specific shift to come in every week and aid us in our daily work.

Substitute Volunteers to cover shifts when our long-term volunteers are temporarily unavailable (training provided). These volunteers are trained and called upon depending on our needs. When regular volunteers are sick, out-of-town, or simply unavailable, our great subs step in.

Event-driven Volunteers to perform specific tasks for us (depends on our needs and your skills). For example, helping us do inventory in September, or reorganizing the food pantry, or a number of projects we are working on to get our new space ready to move into!  Does your cleaning company want to donate their services? Do you clip more coupons than you know what to do with? You might be exactly what we need.
