Project to Benefit Koinonia
The annual Day-to-Serve project time is here again. Attached is the 2017 Proclamation by Virginia’s Governor about the 5thAnnual Day-to-Serve.
Day-to-Serve is about uniting people of all faiths, races, cultures, and backgrounds with the shared goal of helping those in need and improving the community where we live.
Among the many service projects being held in the community is a local project to benefit Koinonia sponsored by the Franconia Ward of LDS, who also generously allowed us to use their hall to sort food at the Postal Carriers' Food Drive in May!
Between September 11 – October 6, a number of projects will be ongoing:
The attached flyer has the sign-up URL & QR for grocery store collection dates & the sorting date. Please feel free to make copies of the flyer to share. You may post on your website. Or click HERE to sign up for as many dates & hours as you want.
There is also a l ink to Koinonia's current pantry needs if you would like to get a head start on the grocery store donations!
If your church or organization would like to put out a box at your location for food donations and/or for coats, etc. donations, please contact Johna Gagnon (firstname.lastname@example.org), the Day-to-Serve co-ordinator for this project. Please let her know if you’d like her to provide boxes. Also, if you or your group will be able to help sort donations on Oct 7th, please bring the donations from your location or make arrangements with Johna to have it picked up.
