Kathleen Ambroso, Chair
Kathleen has been a member of the Koinonia board since 2020. She has her Masters in Social Work. Her work experience includes starting a community service non-profit, Love Nova, and serving as the Director of Outreach for The Journey Church. Prior to this Kathleen was an adoption and foster care social worker in Washington, DC. She is passionate about the needs of our local community and loves building relationships with other organizations and working with volunteers
Lara Walt, Vice-Chair
Lara Walt joined the Board of Directors in May 2018, seeking to serve her local community. She has lived in the Franconia-Kingstowne area for most of her life and attends Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Washington, DC. She has worked as an attorney for a District of Columbia government agency for over 25 years. She received her law degree from the William and Mary Law School and her undergraduate degree in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia.
Jan Vacca-LeBoeuf, Treasurer
Jan Vacca-LeBoeuf serves on the Koinonia Foundation Board of Directors as the Treasurer. She enjoys constructing budgets/tracking finances and is very grateful for the opportunity to serve the community through volunteering at Koinonia. In 2020, Jan retired from Department of Navy Cost Engineering Directorate with 34 years of service. Prior to her government service, she was employed by various educational institutions, including Rhode Island College, Sogex International School in Saudi Arabia, Canadian and US school systems, and Harvard University. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Rhode Island College and a master’s degree from Harvard University. She also holds an MBA from the University of Rhode Island and a MA from the U.S. Navy War College.
She enjoys travelling and looking after her elderly Mom.
Dori McCormick, Secretary
Dori Meinert McCormick joined the Koinonia board in 2024 and volunteers in the food pantry. As a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Alexandria, Va., she coordinates 40 volunteers who teach English to adult immigrants. She’s also a board member with English as a Second Language and Immigrant Ministries in Arlington, Va. For more than 20 years, she was a Washington correspondent for Copley News Service, covering Congress, federal agencies, and the U.S. Supreme Court. She retired in 2024 as managing editor of HR Magazine, published by the Society for Human Resource Management. She has a master’s degree in liberal studies from Georgetown University and a bachelor’s degree in journalism and political science from Northern Illinois University.
Judy Davis, Executive Director
Judy Davis began her career in international finance before pivoting to marketing and graphic design. She served as office manager for The Journey Church (2007–2015) and later for a real estate brokerage (2015–present), consistently leading marketing and communications efforts.
Judy joined Koinonia in 2015 as a volunteer, later serving on the board in roles including marketing chair, treasurer, and vice-chair. She moved into operations during the pandemic and became executive director in 2023. She is passionate about ensuring every family has access to the resources they need to thrive.
Tim Grant, Director
Timothy Grant serves on the Board of Directors for Koinonia Community Services in Northern Virginia, bringing more than three years of board leadership and many additional years of hands on volunteer service through his church. He is the Associate Pastor at New Life Open Bible Church, where he has served as Youth Pastor for over a decade. Timothy is deeply passionate about serving underserved communities and supporting neighbors in need, viewing community outreach as a practical expression of his faith. His commitment to mentorship, advocacy, and compassionate service reflects his dedication to strengthening individuals, families, and the broader community.
Bill Snyder, Director
Bill Snyder and his wife have been residents of the Kingstowne and Franconia area since 2010, and they have been members of Faith Church Kingstowne since then. Bill retired from the Navy in 2014, and is an executive with an IT development, integration and services company in Fairfax that supports agencies across the Federal Government as well as various state governments and commercial enterprises. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of Koinonia since 2018, and has been focused on facilities, particularly securing a new and larger space to enable expanded operations in support of the Koinonia community.
Paul Wolfteich, Director
Paul Wolfteich is an attorney and retired federal executive with the U.S. Department of the Treasury. He and his family have lived in the Franconia area for over 35 years. In addition to his work with Koinonia, Paul has volunteered as a child advocate with Fairfax CASA and as an ombudsman with the Northern Virginia Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program. He previously served on Koinonia’s board of directors in 2003-2005.
Aaron Smith, Director
Dr. Aaron Smith joined the Koinonia Board in October of 2025 and is an active member of New Life Open Bible Church on Franconia Rd. Aaron is a servant-leader and educator committed to helping individuals and communities move from potential to purpose. Aaron is passionate about developing people, strengthening organizations, and creating pathways for lasting growth. Aaron serves with humility, integrity, and a steadfast dedication to helping others rise. Aaron holds a doctorate in Leadership Studies, has served on multiple boards, and has held senior leadership roles providing strategic insight.
Meghan Pazmino, Director
Meghan Pazmino joined the Koinonia Board in November of 2025 and is a member of The Journey Church, where her husband serves as Associate Pastor. Meghan is passionate about improving the lives of others through meeting essential needs, education, and building community. She is a teacher for DC Public Schools and an active member of her community in Montgomery County Maryland, serving on a county board and her neighborhood association. Meghan has a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from the University of Maryland and a Master's in the the Art of Teaching from Montclair State Universtiy (NJ). Meghan lives in Maryland with her husband and two young children.
